I am
responsible for the external projects related to the Image Sciences Institute
(both inside and outside the hospital). I’m also backup for the Systems
Administration of the Image Sciences Institute, because I seem to be the only
employer who does not change his job every two years.
Currently,
I’m an Associate Professor at the Image Sciences
Institute (ISI) of the University Medical Center
Utrecht.
Furthermore, I’m
related to the ImagO school as lecturer
(C++ for Image Processing), which is directly related to the Master’s
programme Biomedical Image Sciences (BIS).
I married in 1995 and got
three children, two boys (Jelle, 1995, and Hidde, 2000) and a girl (Jente,
1998). Only if you are really interested you may want to take a look at some pictures of the children.
His PhD
thesis concerned the segmentation of images based on the multiscale concept,
in particular focused on the partial volume effect.
Currently,
my main research area is Clinical Image Processing. Below you’ll find
some examples of my work.
