Physics of molecular imaging and nuclear medicine
This theme group develops new imaging devices and associated image reconstruction algorithms for emission and transmission tomography. Examples of basic research subjects include
- Molecular imaging devices (in vivo nuclear microscopy and micro-SPECT);
- Development of ultra-high resolution gamma cameras;
- The development of pinhole, cone- and fan-beam SPECT imaging geometries and combined transmission CT and SPECT imaging systems;
- Development of statistical image reconstruction algorithms for multi-slice X-ray CT and SPECT;
- Modeling and simulation of SPECT and X-ray CT systems;
Specific clinical projects are quantitative Single and Dual Isotope SPECT for cardiac perfusion imaging, brain imaging and tumor imaging.
Below a list of people in the group is given, and an overview of current research projects.
