Abstract:
An intracranial aneurysm is a bulge in a brain blood vessel that weakens the wall, increasing the risk of rupture and life-threatening bleeding. As these aneurysms are often asymptomatic, early detection is crucial to prevent rupture. While screening is currently recommended for individuals at risk, it falls short due to a lack of clear understanding who is at risk. This thesis explores the use of computer-assisted and artificial intelligence-based methods to assess imaging markers associated with intracranial aneurysms. These markers can aid in improving the efficacy of screening by identifying high-risk individuals, allowing for targeted follow-up screenings.
