Domenico Aquino (1976) was born in Busto Arsizio, Italy. He obtained his MSc. in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico of Milano in 2003 with a thesis on 2D and 3D tomographic reconstruction alghoritms of PET data using Monte Carlo simulations, conducted at the Hospital San Raffaele of Milan. In 2005, he started to work at the National Neurological Institute Carlo Besta in Milan as a researcher in the field of magnetic resonance neuroimaging of different neurological pathologies, such as brain tumors and neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinsonís and Alzheimer disease. In 2014, he started as a PhD candidate at the PROVIDI Lab, part of the Image Sciences Institute, under the supervision of Alexander Leemans, focusing on diffusion MRI processing and analysis of the human brain in multiple sclerosis.
