Floor van Meer (1986) is a PhD candidate in nutritional neuroscience at the Image Sciences Institute of the University Medical Center Utrecht. In 2010 she received her Master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology at the Utrecht University. Her PhD research focuses on the neural correlates of food choice in children and adults, using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). Furthermore, she looks at how healthy and unhealthy food cues influence brain responses and how body weight and body trajectory play a role. Her PhD work is part of the I.Family study, an EC-funded FP7 project that aims to investigate determinants of food choice, lifestyle and health in European children, adolescents and their parents.
