Abstract
Time-coded tomography uses two-dimensional projections to reconstruct spatial image of the thyroid, so that abnormalities can be detected. The paper discusses an imaging system which is especially designed for single photon time-coded longitudinal emission tomography of the thyroid. Three dimensional simulation studies of single point source have been performed in order to study resolution and sensitivity of the device. The most important parameter in this investigation is the pinhole diameter for which an optimal value is derived.
